Bill what the work really cost, or see what your fixed price was worth.

Project profitability tracking for work with AI agents: value of work, revenue, costs and contribution margin per project and client. On time and materials, the effort goes onto the e-invoice in full. On a fixed price, you see the effective hourly rate.

Time and materials or fixed price

  • Time and materials

Working time, AI work and your own items go onto the e-invoice in full and traceably. The invoice assistant finds what is done but not yet billed.

  • Fixed price

Value of work by progress and the effective hourly rate per project, so your next price fits better. Bill in parts: a percentage, an amount or the rest.

  • AI costs as an expense

Where you work at API prices, pass AI costs on at cost or with a markup, or bill by token volume or active runtime.

Project profitability tracking with every cost

Value of work is what the work is worth: billable hours times the hourly rate on time and materials, the fixed price spread by progress on a fixed price.

Revenue is what you invoiced, counted by invoice date. Costs are AI costs at API prices or as a share of your subscriptions, agent runtime and working time at your own cost rates, and expenses. You decide per project which of them count.

Contribution margin is revenue minus costs, per project, per client and as a monthly trend. If a model has no price yet, the costs show as a lower bound.

The effective hourly rate on a fixed price

Fixed price divided by the hours worked, shown on the project page next to value of work, revenue and costs. A fixed price of 6,000 euros at 40 hours makes 150 euros per hour; if the project took 60 hours, it was 100 euros.

With estimated hours on the order, the value of work grows with progress: hours worked divided by hours estimated, never above the fixed price. So you see during the project whether the price holds. Without an estimate, the fixed price is spread over the hours worked so far.

Frequently asked questions

Fixed price vs time and materials: which does Time Momentum support?

Both, plus pro bono. Each project has a billing type. Time and materials values the working time at an hourly rate and bills the effort; a fixed price bills the agreed price, and the working time becomes the basis for costing it afterwards.

Can I pass AI costs on to my client?

Yes. On the invoice, AI work can be billed at cost, with a markup, by token volume or by active runtime, grouped per project, per model or as a single item.

Does Time Momentum replace my accounting software?

No. It covers orders, e-invoices, payments and profitability. Receipts, tax returns and banking stay in your accounting software.
